Andy & Faye Harris
Faye was involved in 18-25's in Canterbury whilst doing her Religious Studies degree. During that time God radically impacted her faith and life and in 1997 when leaving Canterbury she knew it was time to give away the love of God.
She worked for Y.F.C and trained as part of their youth work training course and then was sent off with a team to Devon. For three years she led a team of five people pioneering a rural schools work and youth work initiative for 'Connect'. This project brought together many of the smaller churches across the denominations to fund and run young people going into schools to show the love of God in practical ways.
During her third year with Connect, she met Andy. She writes At this time God called me to a very different role in life, as a mother and wife. Andy's first wife had died and so I inherited three beautiful children, Sophie, Emily and Brendan.
Since then Faye and Andy have gone to have two more children, Caleb and Micah. Then in the summer of 2007 they moved to Corby to set up a Church, taking a step of faith to move to Faye's home town with no big agenda. Since moving the family have been part of setting up Hope Church which has been an exciting adventure as they have seem some amazing people join the church and grow in God, as well as people becoming Christians and coming back to God. Faye heads up the youth work in the church and Andy is the treasurer, they are both on the leadership team. Faye is also involved in developing a youth movement across the churches which is growing quickly and on fire for God. The Lord has brought some new church leaders in the town and all the churches have started working together more closely and this year promises to see the start of street pastors in the town which Faye has helped to get started.
Prayer requests:- For protection for all the family, help for Andy at work and that God will use each member in witnessing to their friends. For wisdom and unity in the church leadership and that the churches will work together more closely. For starting Street Pastors and guidance to know how to outreach on a local estate. For God to protect what He is doing and increase the U:Nite youth group Faye leads and give the vision for a united youthwork to develop. Also for guidance on the other mission activities, such as youth summer mission and for growth in God, that He will pour out in greater power across the churches and into the community.
